In May and early June, the Department of Musical Arts and Sound Engineering held a series of meetings with applicants, teachers, representatives of the academic community and employers, where they actively discussed the issues of updating the OPP "Musical Arts" at the bachelor's and master's levels of higher education.
On May 8, 2025, the Department of MMZ hosted a discussion of the draft educational and professional programme ‘Musical Art’ for the academic year 2025-2026 at the bachelor's level of higher education, which was attended by applicants and teachers of the department. There was a lively and interested discussion of the cycles of compulsory and elective disciplines that make up the educational programmes, as well as interesting proposals from applicants to expand the professional content of a number of compulsory disciplines: For example, 2nd year student Anastasiia Savchenko proposed to include in the content of the compulsory discipline ‘Foreign language for a special purpose’ the topic of the practical lesson ‘Features of translation of terminology of the Dante sound engineer protocol’ in the first semester of the 1st year due to the great practical need to master this terminology.
Other applicants also made interesting proposals regarding the compulsory and elective educational components of the programme. The Head of the Department, Associate Professor, Candidate of Art History T. Kaplun, senior lecturers of the Department N. Kravets, N. Arkhipova, Yu. Romenskyi, M.G. Horovenko and applicants discussed the proposals and came to fruitful results in enriching and further improving the EPP ‘Musical Art’.
On 13 May 2025, the Department held a roundtable discussion with the faculty of the MMZ Department and stakeholders-employers and representatives of the academic community to discuss educational and professional programmes at the first (bachelor's) and second (master's) levels of higher education. The discussion was attended by Maryna Rusiayeva (Candidate of Arts, Associate Professor, Director of the Emil Hillels Music School No. 1 in Odesa), Serhii Shustov (composer, Candidate of Arts, Associate Professor of the Department of Music Theory and Composition at the A. Nezhdanova Odesa National Music Academy), who provided interesting proposals for improving the Musical Art EPP at both levels of higher education.
