Masterclass by a Suspilne TV Correspondent for Students of the International Humanitarian University

At the International Humanitarian University, a masterclass on television journalism titled “The Rules of Constructing a TV News Story” was held with the participation of students and faculty from the Departments of Cinema and Television, Romance-Germanic Philology, and the Methodology of Foreign Language Teaching.

The speaker of the event was an experienced journalist from Suspilne Odesa – Olha Lapshyna, who shared her insights into creating high-quality news content. In addition to the theoretical part, the participants had the opportunity to practice writing their own TV news pieces and received feedback and advice from experts.

The TV journalist presented the algorithm of creating a news story – from finding a topic to broadcasting the material. Special attention was given to the principles of fact-checking and adherence to journalistic standards such as timeliness, objectivity, and fact verification.

The training session concluded with a practical task discussing current topics. All students were invited to create a short news piece on a given topic, following the rules of television journalism. After completing the assignment, each participant received valuable feedback on how to improve their material.

The organizers announced the continuation of a series of masterclasses aimed at helping future TV journalists develop their professional skills.
