The Department of Postgraduate Studies is a structural subdivision of the International Humanities University, which trains graduates of the degree of Doctor of Philosophy at the third (educational-scientific) and scientific levels of higher education.
During its existence, the university's postgraduate course has come a long way: from the opening of one specialty in 2010 to 7 specialties in 2021, which are now training graduates of the degree of Doctor of Philosophy.
Given the urgent need for highly qualified lawyers, at the initiative of the then rector of the university, Professor Kryzhanovsky. in 2010 a postgraduate course was opened (actual date of creation - November 9, 2010 the decision of the attestation board of the Ministry of Education and Science on opening a postgraduate course in a private higher education institution - International Humanitarian University majoring in Theory and History of State and Law; history of political and legal scholars).

During 11 years, the list of specialties in the graduate school of the university was significantly expanded, in particular: in 2011 the specialty Criminal Procedure and Criminology was opened; forensic examination, operational - search activity; in 2012 the specialties Telecommunication Systems and Networks and Civil Law and Civil Procedure were opened; family law; international private law; in 2013 - specialties Criminal Law and Criminology; criminal executive law; Comparative-historical and typological linguistics; Project and program management; in 2014 - specialty Economics and management of enterprises (by type of economic activity); in 2016 - specialty Economics and Management and specialty Culturology; in 2017 - specialty International Law; in 2018 - specialty Dentistry.
Since its inception, 136 graduate students have been enrolled in graduate school and 32 applicants have been attached.
Since 2016, graduate students began to study under new programs, and therefore, now in graduate school of the university for the preparation of higher education degree of Doctor of Philosophy is in 7 specialties: 081-Law, 293-International Law, 073-Management, 051-Economics, 035-Philology, 034-Culturology, 221- Dentistry.

Today, as always, the desire of the university staff to prepare candidates for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy in various specialties at the highest level, to invest all their skills, all knowledge in the training of dedicated, persistent, creative individuals, intellectual elite of Ukraine.
Undoubtedly, the leading role and significant contribution in the training of young scientists belongs to a powerful teaching staff, including respected professors and doctors of sciences, associate professors and candidates of sciences, scientists, specialists in Ukraine and the world.
At present, scientists of two institutes, two faculties and 10 departments of the university (17 doctors of sciences and 23 candidates of sciences) carry out preparation of applicants for higher education for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy.

An important step towards further intensification of research work at the International Humanitarian University was the creation of 3 specialized scientific councils for consideration and defense of dissertations for the degree of Candidate of Law in Law, Candidate of Philology in Philology, Candidate of Medical Sciences in Dentistry .

During 2013-2019, 24 young scientists of the university (16 graduate students and 8 applicants) successfully defended their dissertations in 2 specialized academic councils of the university for the degree of Candidate of Law and Philology.
During 2010-2020, 132 postgraduate students and applicants from the International Humanitarian University and other higher educational institutions of our country defended their dissertations for the degree of Candidate of Law and Philology in 3 specialized scientific councils.
Postgraduate students have all the opportunities to effectively work on their own dissertation research: participate in forums, conferences, symposia; publish the results of scientific research in scientific journals, special publications of the University: "Scientific Bulletin of the International Humanitarian University" in various series, "Scientific Notes of the International Humanitarian University", "Almanac of International Law", annual collections of abstracts of graduate students, students and young scientists. innovative perspective of professional skill: search of young scientists "and" Black Sea scientific studies "; internships are held in well-known centers of Ukraine and abroad in order to increase the level of theoretical and practical training, master the latest unique methods, innovation management, information exchange and expansion of scientific contacts.

Nowadays, in the years of radical restructuring of the higher education system, high-quality training of young scientists and scientists in the graduate school of the International Humanitarian University is becoming more relevant and creative.
