FORMS OF WORK AND BASIC PRINCIPLES OF ORGANIZATION OF THE CENTER OF PSYCHOLOGICAL SUPPORT

Individual counseling of students, teachers and employees. During psychological counselling, the problem is identified, ways to solve it are determined, new behavioural patterns are formed, and the person receives psychological support and peace of mind. The consultation usually lasts 50-60 minutes. If further individual counseling is required, meetings are organized weekly, twice a week, or according to another interval, as necessary. The time of the first meeting can be arranged via e-mail, phone, or at a personal meeting with a psychologist. A practical psychologist adheres to professional ethical standards regarding the confidentiality of information.

On-line counseling. You can also ask questions to psychologists and get an answer via e-mail: mgu_psyhology@ukr.net

Psychological diagnostics (individual and group). Psychodiagnostic work involves the implementation of various techniques, tests, questionnaires to identify individual characteristics, interpersonal relationships, intellectual abilities, etc.

Psychoprophylactic work among students - measures aimed at preserving psychological health; timely prevention of deviations in interpersonal relationships, prevention of conflict situations in the educational process, prevention of drug addiction, alcoholism, and immoral lifestyle.

Educational work - clarification of current psychological issues, improving the psychological culture of students and employees.
This takes place during:
• meetings with student groups (e.g., within curatorial hours),
• informational conversations, lectures and round tables on psychological issues for students, tutors, lecturers and university staff.
The psychological support office also has a permanent information stand and its own mini-library, where curious people can find useful and interesting information on psychological topics.

Research work - involves psychological and socio-psychological research. Students are actively involved in this activity and have the opportunity to publish the results of their research in the form of abstracts or scientific articles; make presentations at student conferences (including national conferences); write a student research paper and participate in the All-Ukrainian competition of student research papers. Practical psychologists of the Centre and teachers of the discipline departments supervise students' research work.

Psycho-correctional, educational and psycho-preventive work is carried out, in particular, in the form of social and psychological trainings. Psychological trainings provide participants with the opportunity to master psychological knowledge, certain skills and abilities that allow them to solve their intrapersonal problems, issues of interaction with others, as well as make their lives more effective in general and use the knowledge gained in their professional activities.
Trainings are held within the framework of curatorial hours, at the request of participants (students, representatives of student self-government, curators, teachers, university administration), as well as on the initiative of the center of psychological support (relevant announcements are posted on the university website and notice boards). You can arrange training  session by e-mail, phone, or in person with a psychologist.
